PASSION FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE

Gerard has a long history of community service in the City of Green.

It all began when he was appointed by Mayor Brenda Fargo as an inaugural member and became the first Chairman of the City of Green Design Review Board. Two years later, he was appointed by Mayor Dan Croghan to the Planning and Zoning Commission and subsequently appointed to a second term by Mayor Croghan, serving as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission during these eight years. Gerard was also appointed to City of Green Long Range Land Use Plan Committee in 2005.

DEDICATED TO FAMILY

Gerard and his wife, Maria, have lived in Green since 1987, where they raised their children, Patrick, Stephen, and Rachel.

All three children attended Green Schools and are graduates of the University of Akron. In 2018, the family welcomed their first grandchild.

Gerard and Maria continue to be active members of the Green Schools Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting and promoting Green Schools. Gerard is actively involved in Queen of Heaven Church, has coached youth soccer in the Green Soccer Association, and participates in many youth development programs in the community.
